It’s time for SAWCC’s annual benefit! And we are celebrating our 18th birthday, too!  We are very excited to feature artists from our incredible community at the open, modern space, Livestream Public, in Brooklyn. Join us for an evening comedy, art, performance, and a dance party, and support the work we do to advance the visibility and development of South Asian women artists! The event will be live streamed.

DJ Tikka Masala has been seen on stages, or rocking afterparties for with Toshi Reagon, Meshell N’Degeocello, Talib Kweli, DJ Premier, Jean Grae, MC Lyte, Pharoahe Monch, TV on the Radio, The Gossip, Murray Hill, and the list goes on. She’s played on stages in NY, Amsterdam, and Tokyo (hopefully the list will continue to expand).
She also works as a composer for LAVA, Bessie and Obie winning acrobatic feminist dance company based in Brooklyn!

Jimy Shah is giving this whole standup comedy thing a try. Her interest in comedy began as an intern for Saturday Night Live, which led her to studying improv at theUpright Citizens Brigade. Over the past year she’s taken her love for storytelling and comedy to the stage and today you can find her performing around NYC.
