Community

SAWCC has an active physical and virtual community with diverse programs and opportunities for networking to meet our membership’s needs. These include Brown Eyed Girls, a creative writing workshop; Practice/Process/Portfolio, a studio circle for practicing visual artists; a listserv for South Asian women in creative disciplines; and a satellite chapter, SAWCC London.

The SAWCC listserv was started in 2000 as a community bulletin board for professional and emerging South Asian women artists to share resources.  Members post calls for submissions, job opportunities, calls for collaborations, and information about activities and events, as well as lively discussions about issues of concern to members.
